Während im fernen Südafrika bei der Fußball-WM in teilweise langweiligen Spielen 11 Leute einer Mannschaft einem Ball hinterjagen, fand in den Kammlagen des heimischen Erzgebirges ein wesentlich spannenderes Sportereignis statt. Zum 4.mal starteten 10 Mannschaften zu den jeweils 11-Etappen der Erzgebirgstraverse .
Nachdem wir in den ersten beiden Jahren als Sieger in Altenberg ankamen, we were last year, the perfectly prepared tractors from Hermsdorf but very roughly out our dreams of a third victory snapped. Wenn sie jetzt spekuliert hatten, den Rückstand auf der Etappe nach Bad Einsiedel zu verkürzen, wurden sie von Thomas eines Besseren belehrt. Thomas (immerhin Halter des ältesten Streckenrekords - 2008 auf der ersten Etappe) holte sich auch den Streckenrekord auf dieser 9.Etappe und vergrößerte den Vorsprung auf 17 Minuten. Jetzt war Marcus an der Reihe. Als Traversenneuling schickten wir ihn mit Läufer- und Radbegleitung auf die Strecke nach Teichhaus. Jetzt sollte doch nichts mehr schief gehen. Die letzte Etappe wurde wie in den letzten Jahren von Jonny gelaufen. Dieses Jahr war Jonny zwar nicht in Bestform, aber mit den 13 Minuten Vorsprung die ihm Marcus mit auf den Weg gab, sollte das zu machen sein. Und erwartungsgemäß Jonny was sure the victory home. team won the LG exa with a new course record of 13:14:14 in front of the team of tractors from Hermsdorf and the team from LSV Dresden.
